Colorado Lion’s Week

Lion’s Week is a special time where the juniors and seniors of The Daniel Academy get to escape from school for a week and really bond and make lasting memories together. This year, instead of going in the spring time as it has been done in the past, we went in the fall. We stayed at Silver Cliff Ranch in Buena Vista, Colorado.

The students enjoyed a week of hiking, rock climbing and mountain biking in the beautiful mountains of Colorado. We got to experience the majesty of God through the breathtaking views of the mountains. We began every morning with devotions and ended each night with a time of worship where we waited on God. A highlight from the trip was being able to be in the hot springs pool while it snowed! It was like a huge kiss from God. Another highlight was Wednesday night when God really encountered us through a word from Nathan Kind. He wept as he shared about how we should live in the now because tomorrow is not guaranteed. It was a powerful time where people recommitted their lives to God and experienced His presence.

Lion’s Week was a wonderful time where new friendships were made and old ones got to grow. We will never forget the funny memories that were made on this trip. A huge thanks to the chaperones: Mrs. Callow, Mrs. Gilliland, Becca Fraser, Mr. Elliot, Mr. Collings and Mr. Slappy for making this trip possible!
