There was a special atmosphere around the halls of our school today as it filled with new and returning students of all ages, welcomed by our Student Council members, Principals and teachers. Elementary students, aged 3-11, received the love of God in the midst of powerful worship and were exhorted by our Elementary Principal Mr. Brown, that just like Jeremiah, they are not too young to hear the word of the Lord and share that word with others.

Gatlin Briggs, our Student Council President, inspired his peers as he spoke about the fear of the Lord and what it is like when He encounters us. Mrs. Fraser shared Isa. 30:19 with the Gr 5-12 students, and their teachers anointed each one with oil as together we received the promise that the Lord will be gracious to us at the sound of our cry.  Everyone took off their shoes as a response of consecration, believing that the Lord wants to dwell among us this year in an increased way.

Three is a tangible sense of excitement today. Every year is special, but in this our 12th year many are feeling the Lord is going to increase His presence among us. One teacher had a sense that just like a shriveled up raisin infused with water becomes like a grape, the Lord wants to infuse us with His light, power and presence so that our transformation is just as stunning.

It feels as though there is an invitation and a call to all of TDA this year: parents, children, teachers, students, friends and families, to prayer. Let’s test out Isa 30:19 together:

For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem; You shall weep no more. He will be very gracious to you at the sound of your cry; When He hears it, He will answer you.
