How to Apply to TDA for Enrollment for the 2010-2011 School Year 

 

1. We require both parents and all JH and HS students watch 2 videos on our website: “TDA Vision” (55 min) and “TDA Practic” (16 min) under the videos button. When we meet for the interview, we want to find out what about TDA is touching your heart.

 

2. We don’t require, but we encourage families to also watch “Elementary Assemblies Vision” and “A Look Inside TDA”. 

 

3. Read through all documents posted under the Policy and Info Tab. 

 

4. Pray to see if the Lord is leading you to apply for this coming year.

 

5. Email info@thedanielacademy.com to schedule your family interview. 

 

6. BRING THE FOLLOWING FORMS WITH YOU TO YOUR INTERVIEW: 

a. Application Form (one per student) 

b. Family Information Form (one per family) 

c. Student Testimony Form (one per student) 

d. Student Transcript (for grades 4th-12th

i. Public or Private – from the school attended last year and with the most complete records currently available (most schools will allow you as the parent to request the records). 

ii. Homeschools - transcripts need to include the past 2 years including: classes taken, curriculum used, grades earned (and strengths/ weaknesses if helpful for us to know) 

e. Reference Letter (for 7th-12th) – from a pastor, teacher or mentor in the child’s life 

f. Parent Education and Interest Survey (to compile parents interests and experiences) 

g. Background Check Form – one on each PARENT (in order to be able to come and go at the school) 

h. Check payable to TDA for $25 per student application fee 

 

7. Following the interview, you will be notified concerning acceptance as soon as the leadership team reviews your application (within 7-10 days at the longest). All of the items listed in #5 must be received in order to process your application. 

 

8. Upon acceptance, you will be notified how to enroll in classes online. You will also be given the book list for each class with information on how to order the books. Each family is responsible to order and purchase their own books. 

 

9. ACADEMIC TESTING – All 1st-6th graders will be tested to assess grade level readiness. The cost is $35/ student payable at the testing and the test usually takes about 1 ••• hours. You will receive notification of how your student scored (and any adjustments to classes will be made at that time). Older students who may want to test into a certain class will also have that opportunity. 

 

10. ESL TESTING – For all families who do not speak English as their first language, we will test to assess the English skills. The cost is $30/ family member and the results will be emailed to the families. Sometimes English tutoring will be required. 

 

11. Mail or hand-deliver a $300 non-refundable deposit to hold your spot ($100 is applied to administration and $200 is applied towards tuition). No spot will be held until the deposit is received. 

 

12. Mail or hand-deliver a record of your student’s immunization history (by August 1st).
